fter months long of planning about how we would meet up back in Africa, Vuyo and I finally linked up a day before Christmas.
We did a lot of family dinners and that sort of thing before agreeing that we should make a few records before we part ways again.
On the day before New Years I invited Vuyo over to Adriane’s house where the Black Vulcanites where gathering to make the transition.
We quickly grew tired of the early binge drinking and both decided that we should sneak away to meet some women. Our efforts to meet
women failed but we found ourselves dangerously drunk and laughing senselessly at renditions of the phrase “never show thy enemies love” in a Nigerian accent.
The bathroom selfie that became the cover art for our first offering in the new year was inspired by a drunk moment and good hygiene.
We retired the night\morning at 4:00AM but not before we planned a rendezvous to record a song on the 1st day of the new year. The song
celebrates our close friendship and bedroom recording tradition. Everything about this song is honest, we wrote the verses in a
couple of minutes. Well at least Vuyo did, I took about 4 hours to get my shit down but that’s just because we made a run for chicken
and suffered some taxi car troubles. To the girl that randomly got into the taxi with us and openly confessed her love for our music, thank you
so much for reminding us why we do this. Keep on being brave and intrusive. To our fans, friends and family we say welcome to 2014 and LOVE.

Every member of rap’s Mount Rushmore dropped new albums in 2013—Kanye, Jay Z, Drake, Eminem—but it was another MC altogether who stole the crown, and he did it with just a handful of verses: Kendrick Lamar, the latest—and possibly greatest—rapper to come straight outta Compton.
